Kaiako - Year 7

Kaiako - Marie Keely

I was born in Dublin and grew up in England. I completed a Bachelor of Science (honours) degree and worked in marketing before completing a Postgraduate degree in education.  Lincoln University offered my husband (Dave Nicol) a job and we moved to New Zealand and settled in the then small town of Lincoln. We have three children who used to use us as a taxi service when they were younger and now that they’re older can repay the favour. I play various sports including soccer, touch rugby and netball.  Although anyone watching from the sideline would observe that there is certainly more talking happening than running.  I enjoy walking and am highly motivated if there is a cafe at the end of the trek. Having taught at Lincoln Primary for many years I still arrive each morning excited to see what the day will bring.  As a teacher I see my role as instilling confidence in every child along with a passion to learn and attempt new things.

Kaiako - Anna Grant

Kia ora, my name is Anna and I’m delighted to be part of the Year 7 teaching team this year. I began my teaching career at Lincoln Primary in 2012 before having a few years away teaching in the lovely towns of Kaikoura and Hanmer Springs. I was excited to return to Lincoln Primary in 2018 as it is such a forward thinking, inclusive and supportive school to be part of.I’m passionate about helping students develop into the best versions of themselves and particularly enjoy nurturing students as they move into their senior years of primary school. When I’m not at school I’m likely to be in the great outdoors either mountain biking, riding my horse, or walking my dog.

Kaiako - Robyn Tobeck

I have been at Lincoln Primary School for a considerable period of time but I really enjoy the association with the different children and staff that I come into contact with each day.
I enjoy sport and played netball in my youth. I continue to play badminton, golf and my greatest passion tennis.
Outside of school I enjoy my life on the family farm where I am unrecognisable as the Miss T of the classroom.

Kaiako - Year 8

Kaiako - Tania Lejcak

Gidday, I have just moved to New Zealand from Victoria, Australia, at the start of 2022. I have been teaching for the past 6 years in Melbourne and decided to make the move across the Tasman Sea to be closer to my partner. I am looking forward to the challenge of teaching the students in Year 8 as for the past 6 years I have enjoyed teaching junior students. I am very creative and artistic and love to express this in my classroom. I love to travel and it excites me when I discover new places. I like to relax by exploring the great outdoors by going on hikes with my partner, going to the movies and spending as much time as I can with my family. Which is now done with Facetime!

Kaiako - Robyn McDowell

I have been part of the Lincoln Primary Team since early 2007.  Although I was born and trained in Christchurch, my teaching has taken me many places both in NZ and Canada, teaching in both primary and intermediate schools.  I have a passion for teaching  and  the outdoors. I take my role in overseeing the school’s Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) programmes as a privilege. I was part of the FIE training in 2016 and can’t believe the impact this makes on the students' learning.   When I’m not at school I’m hanging out with my husband, Craig, reading, travelling, walking the dog, visiting the beach, catching up with my Dad, my kids (Ben and Rose) and best of all my grandaughter Nola-May.

Kaiwhakahaere Hapori Wha - Learning Leader

Kia ora koutou, I have the great privilege of joining Te Kura o Tauhinu - Lincoln Primary School this year. I have taught in a variety of educational spheres throughout my teaching career and use these experiences to make learning fun and exciting while helping children find their spark. As a teacher I love to instill a passion for discovering “your own individual learning pathway” in my students and model this in my own life by completing numerous degrees in education and psychology.
In my spare time I am a wife and Mum to two gorgeous little boys and one very fluffy little dog- all who keep me on my toes.

Kaiako - Rebecca Thompson

I have been teaching at Lincoln Primary for 7 years. This year I have the privilege of supporting our Year 8 tamariki as they transition into the next step of their learning journey!  Teaching is my passion.  Literacy and the Arts are areas that I really enjoy exploring with students. I am trained in FIE and love the way this and SOLO enhance children’s thinking and learning. Prior to Lincoln Primary, I have taught for about 18 years, either in the classroom or in EOTC spaces, like the Air Force Museum or International Antarctic Centre.  I graduated in 1994 and have worked in South Otago and Christchurch. Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 boys.   I am an avid reader and enjoy the Arts.
